Contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals
As an organisation, Bright Green Futures has always aimed to contribute to as many of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as possible.
But we wondered, what if we made it our target to contribute to all of them?
Whilst building sustainable communities in the UK helps contribute to many SDGs, we would need a wider reach to contribute to all the goals and have a greater impact on people and planet.
So, we set ourselves the challenge of expanding our reach and contributing to all the SDGs.
We are not there yet, but we are making a public declaration so that you can hold us accountable!
One year scholarship with each BGF home
After careful consideration, we decided to support the amazing charities, “Ramana’s Garden” in India and “Education for All” in Morocco.
Ramana’s Garden
Ramana’s Garden is a refuge, home and school for children at risk from poverty and abuse in India and Nepal. The school, based in Rishikesh, is hugely successful in enabling the children to transform their lives and develop careers, giving them a springboard to contribute back to society.
Watch the video on their homepage to learn more about their brilliant work.
Education for All, Morocco
Education for All provides boarding houses for girls from rural Morocco in the High Atlas mountain region, so that they can continue their education. These girls would normally finish school following primary education because traditionally the families would only fund further education for boys.

How “One Home, One Scholarship” works
We sponsor a child’s education for one year with each home we sell and give our customers the opportunity to connect with a sponsored child if they wish. This is Bright Green Futures’ commitment, and the participation of our customers is completely optional.
A journey, not a destination
We had great ambitions since we started out. We wanted to disrupt the conventional housing market and go beyond simply providing homes. But first we had to learn to survive as a new business with a new business model. Now we have proven it works, it is time for us to start giving back, and this is our current strategy.
But we know we can always do better.
We are therefore constantly looking to amplify our impact, knowing that there are no limits to what we can do. We welcome your suggestions. And we’d love you to join us.
If you have any ideas for us or any way you wish to contribute, please write to us at globalgiving@brightgreenfutures.co.uk.
